Flop Sweat, Parts 1 and 2...

You know, I had much longer posts that I was going to write about this post by Hugh MacLeod and the billboards that Ask has been putting up about the algorithm having killed Jeeves, but you know what? It's really not worth my time. I'm going to watch TV.

It's all quite pathetic, really. It this the best they can do? I mean, Really? Come on...

Well, personally I think the ad they have in Cupertino is interesting: The Algorithm Is Banned In China.

But considering I'm the only person I know who immediately knew what the billboard was for, it's probably not very effective.

That said, if used by the right company the "banned in China" badge could be an excellent marketing tool.

I stopped reading the article by hugh macleod after I read, "I know very little about software".

How can you comment on Open Source Software if you know nothing about software in the first place.

I find even "software professionals" know almost nothing about free software or get a lot of their information wrong so why did this guy decide to write anything at all.
