IGN's Top 100 Games - Where is Starflight?

I, like many gamers, read the IGN's Top 100 Games list. Before I go futher, I -hate- lame, lazy, list articles. They're lazy lazy lazy. Also, they are so easy to criticize, and yet are criticism proof as they are usually totally lazy. So, take the IGN list for instance. It misses so much becase there is no way you can adequetly cover the games business with something as straightforward and linear as a stupid numbered list. Of course, next month it will be the "20 best mmorpgs" or the "10 best fps!" or some other lameness.

My complaining about the format aside aside....forgetting to mention Starflight was an abomination and it makes babies cry. Don't get me started about wasteland or tw, either.

But at least they got Star Control 2 in there (the sourcecode of which is now at SF.net)

doh! Funny, I came here to comment about Star Control and someone beat me to it. God, the hours in college we wasted playing SC and SC2.

Another great one was Populous, which didnt translate well into a PC game. But I bought it anyway hoping to relive those memories, failing miserably.

Am I the only one who seems to remember Sentinel Worlds? And then there was the REALLY late follow up Nova something. Man they just don't make games like they used to. Makes me want to become and indie dev just to make games like those.

You can get starflight from www.starflightcentral.com. This site is run by a bunch of retards who have been working on SF3 for about 10 years and produced nada but a few animations. They're a joke, but feel free to download whatever crap you like from them.
